Russell along with fellow winemakers Adrian Sparks (Mount Pleasant Winery) and Stephen Henschke (Henschke Wines) were interviewed for the November edition of American Wine Maker magazine by Danny Wood. The title of the article was Winemaking from down under - making wine like the Aussies.

Russell talked at length about his love for GSM and the wine making principles he adheres too.

I love Grenache, it’s full of sweet fruity characters but it needs something to carry it along - Shiraz giving palate structure and Mourvédre adding complexity and savoury notes

In the article Danny explores the wine making process covering off on all steps including fruit ripeness, cold soak fermentation temperature control. Russell prefers blend prior to barrelling:

I will always blend my GSM parts prior to barreling down. Amalgamation of the parts will be better over the longest period of time possible.
