New Halliday Reviews

Halliday Wine Companion has released it’s latest reviews by McLaren Vale specialist Ned Goodwin MW who definitely has a gift for wonderful prose when creating his wine descriptions :)

2021 McLaren Vale Shiraz

Archetypal Vale shiraz. Warm of feel. Redolent of crushed blackberry and Australian scrub, the waft of eucalyptus strong. Licorice blackstrap, iodine, lilac and a smear of tapenade across the finish, a tad hot. A bite of oak to conclude. - 91 Points

2021 Adelaide Sangiovese Cabernet

A full-weighted wine that remains light on its feet. The dominant agent, sangiovese, imparts frisk and edge, galvanising the smaller cabernet component (20%) into a meld of succulent red and dark fruits, alongside a fibrous spindle of herbal grape tannins, a curb of oak and a waft of anise. Solid drinking. - 90 Points

2022 Adelaide Sangiovese Rosé

Attractive pink salmon hue, flecked with onion skin rims. Aromas of red fruits, bergamot and orange gummy bears. Mid-weighted, dutifully fresh and embroidered with salinity across a pushy finish. - 88 points
